  • Job posting details (title, company, salary, description)
  • Property listing details (title, price, location, description)
  • Marketplace listing details (item name, price, category, description)
  • Payment information (processed securely through PayChangu — we do not store card details)

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use our Platform, including:

  • IP address and browser type
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Search queries and interactions
  • Device information, operating system, and unique device identifiers
  • City-level location based on your IP address

We do not collect precise GPS location without your explicit consent.

Mobile App Data

When you use the MW1 mobile app, we may additionally collect:

  • App usage analytics and crash reports
  • Saved businesses and jobs stored locally on your device via SwiftData
  • Your app preferences stored locally via AppStorage

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Platform

  • To process business listings, job postings, and payments
  • To display your listings to other users
  • To communicate with you about your listings and account

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers: Payment processors (PayChangu), hosting providers (Vercel), database services (Neon), and analytics providers that help us operate the Platform
  • Public listings: Business, job, property, and marketplace listing information is publicly displayed on the Platform as part of the directory service
  • Legal requirements: When required by Malawian law, court order, or government authority
  • Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to ensure the proper functioning of our website. We also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure how visitors interact with mw1.solutions and to deliver more relevant ads. The Meta Pixel collects technical data such as page views, button clicks, and device information — it does not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or passwords.

You can opt out of Meta Pixel tracking at any time through your Facebook Ad Preferences or by using your browser's tracking-protection settings.

6. Data Storage & Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, secure database access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Data in the MW1 mobile app (saved businesses, saved jobs, preferences) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly share it.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Listing data is retained for as long as the listing is published, plus 12 months after removal.
  • If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing for marketing purposes
